Lead Pastor

Alex Dotson is originally from Portland, OR. He grew up in a Christian home, the son of a pastor and former bible college professor and grandson of a pastor and former seminary professor. Alex became a follower of Christ when he was six years old after speaking with his parents one night on what the Gospel message was.

When he was nine, his family moved to Spokane, WA, where he would later graduate from Mead High School in 2005. At the age of fifteen, he started exercising his gifts in preaching and leadership as he began to understand that God was calling him to ministry. He started preaching on a bi-weekly basis to his peers in his church youth group. Eventually, Alex received opportunities to preach at the Sunday morning service. During this time, he was trained and mentored by his father and grandfather. Alex started his formal education and training at Moody Bible Northwest, where he would stay for two years before moving back to Portland, OR.

He started a pastoral internship at Lake Bible Church in Lake Oswego, OR while finishing his degree at Multnomah Bible College. More opportunities to preach arose. He became the regular preacher for a local retirement home and was invited to preach at Lake’s Sunday primary services on multiple occasions. After graduating from Multnomah, he set his sights on attending The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. While there, he graduated with two Masters degrees, an M.Div in Pastoral Studies and a Th.M in Systematic Theology. His thesis entitled “Condemning Rejection” was published in December 2015. He also met his beautiful wife and companion, Faith, at seminary while she was studying in the Biblical Counseling program. They were married in November of 2015 and have been blessed with two sons, Aiden and Colton.

Alex’s main goal has always been to follow God’s calling to be a pastor. He is a preacher who is committed to the spread of the Gospel and teaching that the Word of God is the final authority in a believer's life. He is committed to a personal philosophy of ministry that is a:

Expositional ministry: A ministry where the Bible is the final authority in the life of a believer, is studied, and preached for the practice of faith.

Relational ministry: A ministry where people care about one another and work together to build-up people inside the church and in the world.

Alex is also an avid coffee drinker and root beer expert. He is a former wrestler and a diehard Denver Broncos fan. Being a native of the Pacific Northwest, he also loves the outdoors, hiking, camping, and everything else that goes with it!
